Augmented reality (AR) has blown up recently amongst budding artists helping them to draw. One app even has 17M+ downloads doing just this. We reckon the same playbook works for face painting…
❌ Problem:
Most of us have a skill issue: we can't paint, which doesn't matter… until Halloween rolls around. I don't know about you, but I sure don't want to show up to this year's function in my dad's suit Patrick Bateman costume for the fifth year running.
Face painters charge $75-$200 an hour and book up weeks in advance. Paper stencils are anatomically flawed, and YouTube tutorials mean pausing every few seconds with a thumb covered in paint. Here's the idea.

An AR face painting stencil app that digitally pins any reference you upload onto a real face.
Simply point and paint, whether that's the front camera for your own face or the back camera for someone else's. The outline stays locked on as the face moves and lights up one zone at a time, similar to what Sephora did for makeup.
Make it free to download and free to preview designs, but stick usage behind a hard paywall and let it expire November 1st. Start with Halloween, then sell packs for game days, festivals and kids' birthdays etc.
Our Thoughts:
Every stroke puts a hand between the camera and the face, and one jumpy outline turns that Joker makeup from "whyy soo seriousss" into "are you fu*king seriousss". Look into track and trace apps in adjacent markets and learn from the tech they're already using.
